How do I use the DMSS app?
When you first launch DMSS, it will ask your
permission to store images
on your device as it can save videos and photos from your cameras. Then, you’ll need to
select your country
or region from its extensive list. You can immediately start using it without an account—although you may need to watch a tutorial video first if you happen to be a user of the old gDMSS Plus app.
The interface is easy to use and the application immediately teaches you how to navigate it during the first launch. You must
tap and hold
the upper bar of icons to scroll through them. There are 7 icons that pertain to
different features
you can access: Live, Playback, Door, Favorite, File, Alarm, and Access. You can check each of their uses in the
Help and Feedback
section found in the
Me
tab.
On the top-right corner are the search tool and the Plus button for
adding devices
. For organizing your collection’s view, simply tap the top-left button to switch between grid view and detailed view. Lastly, you can switch between the
three tabs
at the bottom of the screen: Home, Message, and Me—which is where you’ll find the settings. This app performs just fine when recording but its main issue has to do with
notifications not popping up correctly
.
Notifs don’t seem to help
All in all, DMSS is a handy tool for surveillance if you want something that’s easy to use and has several features. It can support different types of devices and can also work on
3G
,
4G
, and
Wi-Fi
. However, it often doesn’t send notifications even when it detects movement from the cameras. This even extends to the cameras, sometimes—wherein you check a notification but the camera won’t let you view its feedback.
