Meet Joe’s clan
The first
Swamp Attack
has you playing as
Slow Joe
, who watches over this precious home’s swamp out in the bayou. One day, rabid animals came out of nowhere and started attacking the place. You had to fight back by shooting and blasting them up before they could reach your porch—gameplay mechanics that are similar to the classic
Plants vs. Zombies
franchise. You have to face
waves of enemies
and survive to clear the level.
The same is still true in
Swamp Attack 2
, with classic
tower defense
combat that has hilarious wild outback environments. Here, Slow Joe has to face off against the wildlife again. However, he’s no longer alone. The game offers
new characters
in the form of Joe’s armed and dangerous family, wielding their own set of
weapons
. There are various options to choose from, as well—from shotguns and rockets to bombs and grenades.
There are also
new regions
you can visit beyond Joe’s swampy home. You can traverse from the bayous to the icy bogs of the world during your quest to continue fending off the animals. Sometimes, the enemy may even turn out to be real monsters. The biggest issue with this game, however, is that the design of endless levels can get pretty
repetitive
and the only real breaks you get are when you unlock new characters.
A zany family bonding time
All in all,
Swamp Attack 2
is
a wonderful sequel
of a game and expands the world of Slow Joe’s fight against his wild home invaders even more. While the gameplay can get repetitive on the later levels, the number of new regions at least keeps things fresh for a little while. If you like
tower defense games
and would something a bit different from
Plants vs. Zombies
, this is a recommended title to try out.
